Finding the "Balance"
It is a sunny Sunday morning, and I
am at my workplace?! Well, I have come on one of my colleague’s request to
assist the extra lab sessions as she would be busy with some honorary work.
I hardly have anything to do…so I
put on my system and login to my account for any new mails…this has been a habit
now, even though I get notifications on my mobile, I would like to confirm it
on the laptop or desktop. With this I remember that I have to prepare for my regular
lab sessions for the coming week. Although I have the previous year’s matter ready,
I have to edit it. So, the topic is “How to use Google search effectively”. I take
the help of Google to find the info. As I browse, I land up on my blog which is
dormant since 2012. I don’t know why I had created it! I am not the person who
would like to write about life experiences or anything else...it could be because
some of friends owned a blog and they could write very well and I used to love
reading it. But I have come to a realization that sometimes what you love is
not what you would like to do…meaning it is perfect that I read and they write.
As quoted by Buddha, “When you like a flower, you just pluck it. But when you
love a flower, you water it daily.” It is that kind of a feeling.
Sometime back, I read a post on a random
blog about a man who used to love his profession, but once he realized that what
he was doing was actually coming at a high personal cost, he gave up and
started doing something which made him a balanced person.
You put your heart and soul in what
you love, but sometimes we fail to realize that in the process we are losing out
on something (it can be anything) very close to oneself. But that does not mean
we have to completely stop doing it; it is all about finding that “balance” I
feel. :)
Whatever you do in life, one will have to put down something to pick up something, but one should know what and how much one can afford to put down.
Nice one
